It is very well-rounded and offers excellent long range performance, the best false alert filtering available, arrows, undetectability, and it’s jam packed with tons of useful features. It has just about every feature you could want and is a strong performer across the board. These are my actual thoughts and opinions, good and bad. I paid full retail for my Redline 360c and this article has affiliate links. This review has been completely rewritten. When the Redline 360c first launched (with firmware version 1.2), there were a bunch of critical problems: The arrows didn’t work, it lacked rear radar detection, the ramp-up didn’t properly communicate when you were getting close to the officer, the detector would sometimes start disabling radar detection on its own, etc. In short, initially this detector was pretty awful. You can see more in my initial impressions video.įortunately Escort quickly released a new firmware update (fw 1.3) that resolved the most critical issues and also added some additional useful features. Thanks to this update, the Redline 360c is now pretty fantastic. ![]() It’s not perfect and there are still a few issues that need to be addressed, but it’s much better than it was originally. When the update is available, it’ll prompt you and you can press the Vol + button to start the update process. If you’ve got your detector connected to a WiFi hotspot, it will check for the latest update on startup. Plug in your R元60c via USB, and the software will update your detector. If you’d like to update with your computer, make sure you download Escort Detector Tools. There’s two ways to update your detector: over WiFi or via your computer. No details on what the bug fixes address, but these are definitely welcome nonetheless. When passing radar sources aiming in the opposite direction, arrow transition speed is more similar with the two firmwares. With 1.8, they point sideways before I pass and then flip to the rear after I pass. Unsure what changes are addressed because the patch notes arent on Escorts website at the moment. With 1.8 against radar sources pointed at me, I notice improved arrow transition speeds compared to 1.7. Escort has released several updates now that all featured improvements to arrows and they’re stating that development is still on-going. If you are taking advantage of the Wi-Fi connection in your vehicle or have access to Wi-Fi, you will be prompted for the update once it becomes available. ![]() The Redline 360c is also getting some improvements to its arrows. Looks like we’re getting some improvements to the BSM filtering, specifically against GM vehicles. □ Reduced false alerts from CAS sensors in GM vehicles Regardless though, Ka band sensitivity improvements are always welcome. Testing would be required to see how much of an improvement there is and if it applies to all Ka frequencies. We’ve seen an improvement in Ka sensitivity when firmware 1.6 was released and it looks like 1.8 also adds further improvements. Escort has posted a changelog so let’s talk about the improvements with this latest update.
